Who we are...

Abergele Community Action is a local, community based registered charity,  governed by a Board of Trustees who have a collective wide range of skills and experience with a passion to make real change, not only in individual lives, but also in the community.

 Mission Statement

Abergele Community Action works with the local community to deliver life-changing, sustainable projects to meet the demands of social and economic inclusion - providing people with the support and encouragement to lessen dependency and  improve physical and emotional wellbeing.

We uphold the values of compassion, justice, dignity, and community with the strategic goal of ending the need for our services, whilst recognising that we will serve people in the community for as long as we are needed.

Linda Tavernor is the Principal Project Manager and Company Secretary and is responsible for finance and funding as well as overseeing all the projects.  Linda has many years’ experience of managing  community projects including developing and delivering them, as well as sourcing and applying for funding. Linda has a passion for justice and has always worked in the community to provide opportunities and activities which enable people to fulfil their potential.

Our Trustees: 

Tracey Brennan chairs the board and is committed to improving opportunities and facilities for local people.  She lives in Abergele and serves on the Town Council.  She has a local retail business and has many years of management experience.

Pauline Heap-Williams is the treasurer.  Pauline has lived and worked in Abergele for many years.  She owns a local business and serves as a Town Councillor

Richard Tavernor is Director of a successful software development company with expertise in management, finance and marketing.

Charles Martin McCoubrey is a local businessman with experience in the housing market. He sits on the Town Council and is currently leader of Conwy County Borough Council.

George Frost is a retired systems manager for a group of companies with responsibilities for the company's IT. George serves is a former Town Councillor and has a commitment to and passion for the local community.

Alan Hunter works for a local business and is currently the Mayor of Abergele and a member of Conwy County Borough Council.  He has a commitment to and passion for the local community.
